The fate ?

I have been reading and listening to horrifying stories of loss of property and lives in Surat. Electricity and water supplies have been restored in most part of Surat.

One of my friend whom I wasnt able to contact for many days had sent me a message describing what he had seen and felt. He wrote and I quote "Yaar situation is extremely bad. When I went into water I saw dead bodies, animals and vehicles flowing around. I cant get those pics off my mind."

His fews words describe a lot....

1 feet mud in houses

One of my friends just spoke back home and according to his father in law there is almost 1 feet of mud in some houses. Sadly, his father in laws house was fully submerged in water causing loss of property..

This is story of areas which werent in way of river Tapti so imagine areas that fall in path of river Tapti. My friend from Nanpura in his message wrote about his relatives living in Katargam. He wrote and I quote "All they have left is 4 walls"

Death Toll

Hey everyone...
Sorry I wasnt able to post here since I was myself tensed for my near and dear ones back home. Thanks to prayers of millions of people who were praying for people back home. I have heard some horrible stories about number of people who have died and are still waiting for water supplies to restore.

I spoke to my family yestd afternoon and they were all fine. But my uncles place located near new Richi-Rich, parle point was covered by water. I have tried contacting people living near Athwa Gate but BSNL phone lines were still dead.

Hats off to my friend who was sending me updates from water submerged Nanpura. I told her to send me msgs and switch off her phone therefore she could be in touch with me through all this days of grief and pain.

The major task ahead for Surat will be recovering from this trauma and cleanliness thereoff. My friends located in Bhatar said that SMC authorities were quick to act in their area since they had come to their society and asked residents to clean their houses and leave the roads upto the authorities. By nightfall they had sprinkled fertilizers and cleared roads.
